The Forum is an independent, non-governmental body.
The Forum was founded in the belief
that the Bering System ecosystem is a global treasure that is under
threat from a number of factors, including overfishing, poaching,
global warming, and pollution.
The Third Annual Working Meeting of the International Bering Sea Forum was held May 29 - June 1, on Russia's Kamchatka peninsula.
